The Sunday Salon: I Miss My Blog

tss-badgeIt’s Sunday afternoon, I’ve got a house full of kids working on school projects and I’m munching on delicious leftovers from my sister’s birthday dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse last night.  The kids are preparing for a class presentation on The Reformation and want me to help, but I’m still on a schoolwork hangover from this:

My Sissie and I helped the twins put two of these babies together

Of course, there’s been soccer practice and games, open house, and a set of twins who are itching for the summer.  Me… Mom… I’m just missing my writing, my blogging, my quiet time.  I’m still working the two jobs, but my main job has been consuming considerable time.  I’ve gone through a company change as well as doubling my portfolio.  This, in the end, has resulted in longer hours than I originally anticipated when I took the job.  I’m not complaining… I have a job!  I don’t want to go back to the way it was before!  I am so very grateful, but I miss my blog.  I miss my reading time.  I hope to get at least 2 books read this week!

My health has been in el crappo!  What’s up with that?  It’s like I turned 40 and nothing works right anymore.  Nobody warned me about this!  I’ve suddenly gone blind (need to see the eye doc) and my ticker just doesn’t want to act like it used to.  Oh… to be young again!  I don’t think I fully appreciated my 20-year old body when I had it.  I wonder how many more creaks and squeaks I’m going to get when I turn 50!  Goodness!

I miss reading about you guys… your families, kids, hubbies, books.  Simply, I just can’t keep up.  I’m hoping that the summer time will bring less work with twins as they will be out of school and sports and I can get back into my BLOGGIN GROOVE!  I have almost 35 books that I still need to read and review.  Plus, I haven’t been able to haunt my favorite blogs.  I’m planning on taking some time off work in May to just stay home and indulge in all of my “me” progjects, including A Novel Menagerie!

Overall… I hope that everybody’s doing great… reading good books… staying healthy… and happy!

My TV Addiction

Dancing With the Stars

So, Jakie-Poo was finally voted off and tears were shed.  Vienna sat on the sidelines and was sad for her sweetheart.  My sister, who vehemently hates Vienna (and wished that Jake would have picked anybody BUT her) squeals with joy!  I must admit, Jake was acting a bit of a cornball on the show and I was getting a bit tired of the antics.  But, I will miss seeing Vienna in the audience (even if my sister won’t).

Jake & Vienna double date with Mickey and Chelsie

I absolutely couldn’t stand Pamela Anderson’s wig this past week.  Does anybody other than me think that she is having an affair with her dance partner?  Somthings going on there!

Glee

I’m still completely hooked to this show.   I wasn’t super impressed with the first episode of the season, however did enjoy the Madonna one.  The music is so enjoyable and it’s nice to see the revival of the musical… I loved them then and I love them now.

Parenthood

Is anybody hooked on this program?  I think the acting is good, the wrtiting is relevant, and Craig T. Nelson always brings a smile to my face.

Tori & Dean – Home Sweet Hollywood

She is so skinny.  The entire time that I’m watching the episodes, I am just worried about her health.  And, she seems so depressed.  Like many married couples with small children, they have lost touch with the essence of what brought them together in the first place.  But, what worries me is that there is something deeper inside Tori that needs to be fixed.  I’m worried.

American Idol

I’m more curious about what everybody else thinks.  That Kasey James is too cute for words.  Does Crystal Bowersox already have it in the bag?

The Rest…

I have a copule of book reviews coming up this week including:

I am looking forward to spending next weekend with my twins and also with my sister and her family.  We’re going to get a little bit of spa action on Mom’s Day.  Ahhh…  My wish to all the moms out there… have a great week and I wish you an easy  week.

As always, my thanks to all of you for reading not only this post, but the others as well.   Your readership means the world to me!  AND, your comments are invaluable to me!

I totally get this post and I’m feeling much the same way. Although I finally had to give the book blog the boot and start a blog where I can occasionally blog about books but also blog about other things as well. With work and the demands at home, there just hasn’t been much time to read or blog or comment the past several months. I think many bloggers are also going through this. You’d be happy to finish 2 books this week and I’ll be happy to finish 2 this month! :)

LOVE Glee and Parenthood. Two of the shows I look forward to all week. I really enjoyed the Madonna episode of Glee and Peter Krause? Yum.

Hope you have a great week. And I’m sorry to hear about your health.

So great to catch up : ) I’m a Glee fan – love the singing. I haven’t watched Parenthood yet but plan to catch up with On Demand or when it’s available on Netflix. Maybe I can get it at hulu? Somehow, I’ll find it, lol.
Sorry about the health stuff. Hope you feel well soon.

I also love Glee, though I wasn’t thrilled with this last episode; it somehow didn’t hit the right spot with me. I agree though that the Madonna episode was good.

I miss you too! — although I totally understand that life often has other priorities. I hope things settle down for you soon and you can rest and relax in any way you see fit :)

We’ve missed you too, but real life is more important than us! I think Pamela Anderson can dance, but she tries way too hard to be sexy and it just drives me crazy!

I’m sorry to hear that work is so busy, but that’s a good thing…stay positive…you’ll get some me time soon. The girls sound like they are keeping you busy as well. I’ve been trying to catch up on blog reading after hosting that month-long blog tour of poetry. Boy was that exhausting…I’m jealous that you got a copy of the latest MJ Rose! I’ve got that one on my radar…and cannot wait to get my hands on it.

I hope you have more time for reading soon!

I’m so impressed with the project you built! I always say, something’s got to give, when you get overloaded. If you skip the blog then you can read other people’s blogs (which is one of the reasons why i don’t have a blog of my own, no matter how much I love books. I have too much fun visiting others’ blogs without have to feed and tend my own…)

I love some of the covers of the books you have in this post. Did you note the emphasis on feet? Just wondering…

As for moi, I just finished a book of terrorism fiction for lack of a better description: “The Ovary Wars” by Mike Hogan. How can ovaries be at war, you ask? When a foreign power begins sterilizing women in the US without their knowledge, leading to economic collapse. It’s a non-violent and bloodless — but extremely effective — form of terrorism. I love the premise. Just think of the great movie this would make.

Sometimes more pressing matters need to be dealt with. I hope you enjoy CeeCee Honeycutt…that was one of my favorites so far this year. I also love Glee…I’m trying to catch up on the last season before I start watching the new ones.

My dear, I hear you loud and clear! (*I’m a poet!)
It’s been that way with me as well. Just getting pooped out.. and the season has changed and the sun is shining & I shouldn’t be spending it on the computer. Even certain books have lost their luster… what I could possibly have put up with a few months ago, is just downright bland and dry for me now.
    Augh.
Lots of stuff going on in our personal lives doesn’t help the book blog, but priorities are priorities.. and the ones that bring home the bacon are the most important. I am glad that the job is doing well.. and you are working! YAY!
I wouldn’t mind having that castle project in my room, that is awesome!!!!!!!!! Great job, gals!
