10 Things You Might Not Know…

Do Y’all Know Heather of Age 30+…A Lifetime of Books?

She’s been a reader of mine since I can remember.  It goes without saying that I also read her wonderful blog.  She has presented me with the Honest Scrap Award.  This award apparently means that I blog straight from the heart.   I am supposed to share this award with 7 other bloggers as well as share 10 things about myself. 

Let’s go…

1.  I love to sleep.  I can nap at any time, pretty much anywhere.  There’s nothing better than a nap on a Sunday afternoon.  I wish that we could nap at work for 2 hours.  Remember when you were in Kindergarten and they gave you snack and milk?  Then, you got to lie down on your mat for nap time.  I’ve never gotten over missing those days… of milk, naps, and cool dark rooms.

2.  It is imperative that I make my every two week nail and pedicure appointment.  I’m completely addicted to pretty nails (hands and toes).  I have silk wraps on my fingers to keep them strong and pretty.  I love my manicurist and book her a month in advance.  It has to be the same day of the week, same time.  It’s a complete and utter addiction.

3.  I make fantastic martinis.  My specialty is the key lime martini, however I can mix up quite a plethera of delicious concoctions.  When I have ladies over for parties, they get to enjoy their choice of at least 3 different types of martinis.

4.  I knit.  I’m almost done with a blanket that I started making out of left over yarns in my bin.  I’ll publish a picture when it’s done. 

5.  I seriously need to go on a date.  It’s been like FOREVER.  Everyone is tyring to get me motivated to date.  I’m just chicken to put myself out there again.

6.  I went to play BINGO last week at the local high school to fund raise.  I had a blast!  It’s completely addicting.  I’m going again this week.  (ssshhh…. )

7.  When my twins start fighting, I want to run away.  Well, not like run away and never come home… but, just leave and come back later.  I have this fantasy that they start fighting, I leave and have a lovely dinner.  I come back and the house is clean and they are getting along.  Do you think that if I had my own personal genie that this may happen?  Of course, I’m a single mom and can’t leave… but, I secretly wish.

8.  I’m an A-Type personality and total organizational freak at the office.  Everything is color coded, filed away, and there is no mess ever in sight.  I’m a total perfectionist and drive my co-workers crazy on how I want things “just so.”  I won’t leave work until my desk is clean.

9.  I should have been a race car driver.  I am a speed demon.  I used to always drive little fast cars and now I drive the Mom-Mobile.  Even though it’s a truck, I’m still a lead-foot and inside my head I think that I can still drive really fast in this SUV.  And, I do.  Then, I rage against the Toyota Camrys who are driving 50 mph in the fast lane (which is usually driven at the average speed of 70-75mph).  I don’t understand why slow drivers can’t just drive in the right lanes and let us fast guys have the left lanes.   OH… and those people in the right hand lane on the city streets who drive HUGE SUV’s (like Suburbans)… they pull into the dead center or right hand side of the right hand lane when there’s a red light.  Then, all of the cars behind him can’t get past on the right (to turn) because he’s hogging the lane.  Here’s my shout-out to these people… when you pull up to a stop, stay towards the left side of your lane.  Don’t make everybody behind you wait just because you have a huge car.  <whew>  …enough said.

10.  I talk in cartoon voices when I impersonate my animals.  They each have a distinct voice.  My children ask the animals questions and I answer in the animal cartoon voice in the 1st person.  If an alien landed in my house, they’d seriously question my personality and behaviors.
