The Sunday Salon: One More Week & Counting…

tss-badgeIs she alive?

Where did she go?

From a daily blogger to a woman M.I.A.?

It doesn’t seem possible, let alone plausible.

Oh, but it’s true…

She’s nowhere to be found around these parts!

———————————————————————

I am alive.

I didn’t go anywhere… just eaten up by the work/school/2nd job/mommy-job thing.

Frankly, I’m just exhausted.  In fact, Friday night after work I just came home… ate… and fell asleep at 8pm.  I slept all the way through until 10am Saturday.  And, I woke up tired.

Yet, I can see light at the end of the tunnel.  I have only ONE MORE WEEK OF SCHOOL and them I’m back to the landof the living.  In fact, I’m hoping that over the Christmas break, I’ll be able to spend some time getting my blog back into tip-top shape.  Maybe even some pre-posting!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m beyond grateful to have a new full-time job.  It makes me believe that everything will work out okay with finances, keeping the home, etc.  I really do appreciate having my new position.  But, winning the lottery wouldn’t be so bad… now would it?

I miss reading about y’all.  I hope that everybody is doing well and getting their Christmas shopping done.  I’m 90% complete with my shopping and 50% complete with my wrapping.  My tree is up (thanks to my sister giving me a hand) and the outdoor lights are hung (thanks for my brother).  The twins andI have plans to spendtime with family around the holidays and we’re really looking forward to this year’s Christmas holiday.  I think the twins are more thrilled about getting more presents, between you and me!

Speaking of the twins… we got report cards yesterday.  Cole received a 3.87 and DeeDee a 3.63.  All A’s and B’s.  They should be very proud of their work.  I know that I’m a proud Momma!  I think that they both had hoped for straight A’s, but their math class was tough.  They both got a B in that class.  DeeDee got “Scientist of the Week” last week and has been pulling an A+ in Science all year.  She just loves science.  I have no idea where they get that from.  Science has never been my favorite…

This week, I went to a work event in which many people in my field attended.  Some I hadn’t seen in over 10 years.  It was fun to reconnect with people that I’ve worked with over the past 24 years.  My sissie went with me as she works in the same field as I.  It was fun because a lot of people knew us individually, yet didn’t know we were sisters.  So… that was cool!

Other than that… I have 10 books to review:

SuperFreakonomics

The Secret Garden

When She Flew

Hotel On The Corner of Bitter & Sweet

The Liar’s Club

Middlesex

The Opposite of Love

A Year of Cats & Dogs

Everything Sucks

Pretty in Plaid

Yep… that many read in my M.I.A.-ness.  No reviews written.  EEK!

Hugs to all… I hope that you’re keeping warm, staying dry, and managing the hectics of the holiday season!

I’ve been missing you but figured you were super busy with the new job and the girls – I totally forgot you have school on top of all that! I’m glad you can see the light at the end of the tunnel and I know this will be a super Christmas for your family.

I have missed your posts, but totally understand the craziness. I am SO impressed at how many books you have read in your “spare” time.

Good luck with classes this week – and we will look forward to any posts you have time to write over the holiday break.

I was just saying to myself today “I wonder if Sheri is OK?”. I figured you were in the weeds with the job, school and kid stuff. But I’m glad to hear from you. You must be so proud of your girls – obviously you are doing something right! And so many great books you’ve read! I get overwhelmed when I have two unreviewed books. But just take your time. You know we love you, and will wait patiently!

I’m right there with you in wanting to win the lottery, Sheri. It would certainly help out so much! Especially since my employer is going to have to make further cuts this coming year. :-(

Sounds like you’ve been extremely busy, Sheri. I hope the upcoming break from school will give you some relief. Take care, Sheri!

Welcome back. Those grades are night fine. You should be proud. Nice to have the full time job. I would love a windfall from the lottery myself. Would love to hang out in blogland, read and comment to my hearts desire. I found Middlesex really well written. I am going to be finally reading The Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet also.

I’m so glad you only have a week left of school Sheri – that must be a relief! I hope that you are able to get some more rest soon.

Congrats to your daughter on the awesome report cards!

It looks like you’ve been getting in some good reading even with all of the other things you’ve been up to. I look forward to reading your reviews when you get them posted. (But take your time – you deserve to take it easy what with all of the things you’ve been doing.)

It was great to read about what you’ve been up to. Looks like a lot! I know you will be glad when next week gets here. I am impressed you have read so much with all that going on. I look forward to your reviews as several of those are on my 2010 to-read list.
