The Sunday Salon: I Miss The Rain
This week, Southern California was blessed with nearly 2 days of rain. Oh… how I loved the rain! Unfortunately, it was a lack-luster storm with more drizzle than drops. How I had wished that we would get a week of solid rainfall, drenching my lawns, planters, and pots. But, NO! We were gypped!
On the other hand, my best friend from Santa Cruz was up on her roof at 1am covering holes in a rainstorm. First of all, I would have never, in a million years, ever imagined my GUCCI-GAL-PAL to ever climb a roof, let alone perform make-shift repairs in the middle of the night. Outside of the emergency roof-repairs, I am so jealous of her weather this week. It is, after all, 80 degrees outside right now. And, we have a mid-day soccer game. Although I’ve taken my shower, I’m already glistening and melting. Isn’t it supposed to be Fall?
It’s onto my weekly reading update…
This Week’s Reads
This week, I reviewed:
In My Mailbox for Review
Nothing. Nothing. Nothing. (Aaahhh… the pile is starting to get smaller).
Contests
Nothing this week. Do you miss my contests?
On TV
Grey’s Anatomy & Private Practice
I’m finally caught up. So, Doc. Miranda Bailey from Seattle Grace visits Addison Montgomery in LA at her Private Practice. I was disappointed when Sam tried to kiss Miranda and she ended up halting it. Excuse Me… not letting Taye Diggs kiss you? You’ve got to be kidding. And, Pete is Violet’s BABY-DADDY. (Whew). I’m hooked.
The Office
This week Michael is convinced by Andy and Dwayne that an insurance salesman, Mr. Grotti, is a man o’ the mafia and is putting “the squeeze” on him. Although there were great moments, like Andy disgusing himself as Pat-The-Mechanic so that he can bring a tire iron into the restaurant only to later be summoned for assistance with a dead battery and ending up blowing up the engines of two cars. But, I missed Pam & Jim while they were on their honeymoon. I hope next week’s episode is better.
Dancing With The Stars
If you missed my recap, it is HERE.
The Rest…
Claire has been a bad dog this week. Even the neighbor called to see if there is anything we can do about her “Deputy Dog” barking. I told the neighbor… she’s a very bad dog, but we love her. I mean… just look at the cuteness that is Claire:
Hey… what do y’all think about the BALLOON BOY incident? If you haven’t seen the video coverage, check this out: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/33341104#33341104.
Well, I’m off for homework and tea. Best of Sundays to y’all!
As always, my thanks to all of you for reading not only this post, but the others as well. Your readership means the world to me! AND, your comments are invaluable to me!

Sheri, I hope that little storm we had was not our “winter.” It was 98 up by me today and I am soooo over it.

I’ll trade weather with you – we’ve have non-stop rain for several days now and it is expected to continue tomorrow. Plus it is in the lower 40s so it is a very cold rain. I don’t want to go outside period.
Hope you enjoy your Sunday!

We have had heat indexes beyond 100 degrees in Florida earlier this week, but lo and behold, a cold front came through and our high yesterday was in the 70′s. I hope that winter is here to stay (we really don’t have much of a fall!). Great weather for football yesterday!

I love a good storm too and while we’ve been dreary the past couple of days in NC we’ve only had mist (boo…). Private Practice was a good one too and I absolutely agree with you. Yeah Pete! If the other guy was it I would have vomited…and that kiss?! REALLY?! What was she thinking?! LOL

Claire is just too cute for words. Send “bad doggie” over my way
I know what you mean, though. My neighbors are tired of bringing our little black cockapoo “KC” back to us after she’s run around and terrorized all the other dogs in the neighborhood. “Here’s your dog,” they say as they plop her in my arms. Oops. But she has so much fun while she’s out there
We live on a dead end street with hardly any cars, but still I know it’s not safe.
Finally a sunny day in St. Louis after days and days of rain. Arrr, I could hardly stand it.
Have a great day.

I totally fell asleep during The Office this week. The only funny part I remember seeing is when Jim was talking to Michael and was pretending to break up. I miss Jim and Pam.
Hope you get some sun–we’ve been unsually rainy but sunny all weekend!

What cracks me up is that Michael believes that they are really breaking up due to the cell connection.

The cell project is cool!! Very creative.
I missed Jim and Pam this week too. Kevin canceling their credit card was pretty funny though.

Look at that sweet dog face! I have a barker too and try not to inflict too much of her on the neighbors but some weeks are definitely better than others.

I think I need at least a week or two of not getting anything in my mailbox either. It feels like I’m never going to catch up!

We had a huge storm on Saturday (the day of my friend’s wedding reception/luau). I think we got about an inch of rain that morning – the parking lots turned into lakes. Thankfully it stopped raining in the afternoon and we actually got to spend part of the party outside. It was like a reunion of all of my friends from the sixth grade, and they all have babies that are about 16 months old. I was the odd one out because my kids are so much older. It was pretty cool though because I hadn’t seen them all in a long time (one friend I hadn’t seen in 13 years).
The jello cell is neat! One thing I never realized until becoming a parent is just how much homework I get to help with. I thought I was done with homework after college.
