The Sunday Salon: Under A Pile Of Homework

tss-badgeI miss the days of balanced life in which I had time to write a leisurely Sunday Salon post.  It was, in fact, my favorite post of the week.

Not any more.

That is, not until I’m done with my Fall Semester.

School’s harder than I thought it would be.

So… my friends.. my readers… forgive me!  The old me should be back once I get my life more balanced out.

Onto my weekly reading update…

This Week’s Reads

This week, I reviewed:

altitude

tidings

spice

In My Mailbox for Review

Nothing… but, I did order some books from Amazon.com.  I ordered The Opposite of Love, The Secret Garden, and The Other Boelyn Girl.

Contests

We have the winner for a copy of Just Between You & Me by Jenny B. Jones… Debbie D!

winner

On TV

The Office

The episode opener of this week was totally hillarious!  How will Jim and Michael work together and find a decent balance of power?  CANNOT Wait!

Dancing With The Stars

If you missed my recaps they are HERE and HERE.

Fall Season Openers & Missing Favorites

I have yet to watch Grey’s Anatomy… haven’t watched this week’s Glee… and am missing all my favorite shows and reading textbooks.  (Can you hear resentment in my voice?).  Desperate Housewives is airing soon, too!  UGH.

The Rest…

Our soccer game was cancelled due to poor field conditions.  The twins were so disappointed.  They said that they would have rather played and lost than not playing at all.  They love playing soccer.  Frankly, I was disappointed, too.  It was our snack week and we had all the goodies loaded up in the car.  Now the twins have an entire bag of cut up oranges to eat!  (*hee hee*)

We had “Back To School Night” this week.  I’m totally prepared now to ensure the twins get their homework and studying done.

This feels like the driest, most boring Sunday Salon post EVER!  Oh… I hope that next week I’m back to normal.

How are y’all doing?  Are you guys crazy buzy this fall?

As always, my thanks to all of you for reading not only this post, but the others as well.   Your readership means the world to me!  AND, your comments are invaluable to me!

I didn’t get to much blog reading this week until now, but I’m going to have to figure out how to get back to your DWTS recaps promptly. They were fantastic and fun.

I have far less stuff going on than you do, and I’m having trouble keeping up with TV this week– good luck!

    Have a good reading week :-) .

Life gets in the way, Sheri, I understand this full well. I’ve been completely out of commission this week running the kids’ book fair. It is like a full time + job. I leave the house at 7am and get home at 6pm. But this stuff comes and goes. I know my cousin went back to school recently, and she disappeared. She emerged finally with a degree and as a result, a really good job. Her life wasn’t normal throughout this period, but I know she feels it was all worth it.

I just love the new look of your blog! Did you notice how the books you read this week are color coordinated? Very pretty. All three of my kids played soccer for years (all in their 20s now). I miss those years and then I don’t. Enjoy :) Have a great week. Busy is good.

    Hi Sheri~~
I didn’t know that The Office started up again, the TV is stuck on Noggin and NickJr. I have been busy also, just dealing with the toddler’s recent illness, FLU!! and just trying to cope with daily life. Don’t let blog responsibilities distract you from the most important thing: SCHOOL
You have made a commitment to better yourself and that should be applauded, good job! (Hope you DO get a good job.. at home, where you want to be!)

And Halloween is coming, time to figure out costumes for both my kids, which is going to be fun I hope.

I updated my blog’s address so update your bookmarks and I also have a new button =)
    Take care of yourself!

Love your blog! I’m going to add it to my blog roll. For some stress-less fun, check out my Sunday Salon today to see pics of me with celebrities.

BTW, I really want to get A Change in Altitude, especially since reading your review. Looks really good and I’ve heard others say good things as well :) Happy Sunday!

Sorry that homework is taking over your life, but at least it’s a temporary thing. At least you’re able to find a little time to read.

I’m buried under homework as well but that of my kids! Not mine. Way, way too much homework for a 1st grader.

I was feeling rushed with my Sunday Salon post this week too. There’s just never enough time to do everything I need to do!
