I invite everybody to participate in the weekly MEME and write about any movies, television or big screen, that you’ve seen over the past week and write about it.  Please feel free to use the above logo photo in your post and/or link back to the site.  I will post every Sunday Night or Monday Morning on the movie I’ve seen from the past week.  I’m hoping that there are other movie buffs out there who will enjoy the MEME as much as I’m hoping to!  The only small request that I have is that you rate the movie out of 5 bags of popcorn (so, 1 bag out of 5, 2 bags out of 5, and so on).

i_love_you_man1Movie:  I Love You, Man

Starring: Paul Rudd, Rashida Jones, Jason Segel, Jon Favreau, Jamie Pressly, Jane Curtin, Lou Ferrigno, Andy Samberg

Genre:   Comedy

Runtime: 105 Minutes

MPAA Rating:  R

Directed By:  John Hamburg

I could wring the neck of the video store guy.  He said this was a “great” movie… “really super funny.”

L.I.A.R.

This movie was, for me, only funny in a few spots… one was when Rudd was faced with his mug plastered all over billboards in Los Angeles.  The only other funny point was when Segel threatens to kick Ferrigno’s ass.  That’s it, folks.  The only two parts of the movie worth watching.

Save yourself 105 minutes of your life… here’s a trailer that gives you the majority of the movie in 2 minutes… and only watch this if you are really curious:

They have donned this movie a Romantic Comedy, however it is a “Bromance.”  Lame.

My favorite actor/character was the dog named “Anwar Sadat,” because he looked liked him.

For the genre romantic comedy, I will rate this movie  2 bags o’ popcorn.  Do yourself a favor… wait until The Hangover comes out on video and rent it, instead!

We just rented this yesterday and watched it. We both agreed that there were some parts that made us LOL but the rest of it was actually pretty boring. And yeah, it actually had very little to do with the girl he was marrying.

I am sorry this movie turned out to be such a disappointment for you, Sheri. I don’t know yet if I want to see it. The kind of humor in this sort of movie isn’t always for me and so I have to really be in a certain mood to watch it.

I was never compelled to watch this honestly. Rudd can be very funny, but I got the feeling that this bromance comedy thing has been milked for all its worth. I’ll hold out for The Hangover!

Hubby and I watched two DVD’s over the week-end THE BOY IN THE BLUE STRIPED PYJAMAS which was very good but still not as good as the book and TROPIC THUNDER which was terrible, a real disappointment. For The Boy In The Blue Striped Pyjamas, I award 4 bags of popcorn and for Tropic Thunder – it was so bad, can I say we gave the popcorn a miss altogether.

Thanks for the warning – I hate wasting time on bad movies. But this is one I already knew I could never watch, just from seeing a few of the commercials on TV. When even the ads are bad, I know it’s really something to avoid.

Thanks for watching this one so I don’t have to! I like Paul Rudd, but not enough to sit through it.

It’s funny that you didn’t like this one- I loved it! I even got my hubby to (grudginly) admit that he liked most of it too. Loved the ending! People are always telling us that we have weird taste in movies, though. I mean, come on, we actually LIKED “Borat”!

I think I would have passed on this one just from the title and the photo on the front.

I watched this movie over the weekend but my husband and I really enjoyed it! We were totally in the mood for a light, entertaining, funny comedy and that’s what this was. I like Paul Rudd a lot and thought he was pretty funny in this movie, although there were definitely some cringe-worthy moments. I didn’t expect to laugh during this movie as much as I did. Maybe it was just the day for me because later on we watched Woody Allen’s The Purple Rose of Cairo which was aired on AMC and I laughed a lot but I adore WA’s movies.
Anyway, as for I Love You Man, I’m not a big fan of romantic comedies, I find them pretty typical and flat. But this wasn’t a real romantic comedy, it was about the groom and is issues with friendship which I thought was a nice twist on the topic.

Sorry you didn’t like this movie, Sheri :o (

By the way, I meant to tell you that I really like the new look of your blog!
    Have a great Tuesday!

I saw this on the plane recently, and though it was a bit preposterous, I loved Paul Rudd in it. It’s not really one I’d tell people to rush out and see, but it didn’t make me want to scratch my eyes out either ;)

Believe it or not…I liked this movie. I wasn’t rolling all over the floor, but I thought it was pretty cute in a lot of ways. I think the thing that I liked about it was the honesty. Wait…you know how Paul Rudd’s fiance is talking to her girlfriends on the phone about them being engaged and they knew EVERYTHING? Seriously…that rang so close to home. Us women share it all! It was quite over the top, but I liked it. The funny thing is that I didn’t even want to see it. :) Go figure. :)
