I agree with you on every point. I really wanted to love it but I just didn't I like the middle but the first and last bits were a very big slog for me. Sad because, as I said, I really wanted to like it. I have this book. Two copies in fact, so don't enter me. I don't read a lot about magic, so I am looking forward to this one.
