Welcome to “The Score,” A Novel Menagerie’s weekly music feature.  Each  Thursday, I will share an artist and a song that I favor.  Thereafter, the song will be available to you in my sidebar widget until the following week’s selection.

I welcome your suggestions for future artist spotlights.

This week, I am highlighting an album that I was introduced to about a year ago.  I’m a listener of a local radio program called Mark & Brian on KLOS Los Angeles.  Mark and Brian had Glen Campbell on as a guest and I listened in to the interview and singing.  Before this interview/performance, all I ever knew about Glen Campbell was his song ”Rhinstone Cowboy.”  But, as I listened to him sing acoustically on the radio program, I was moved to purchase the album.

The interesting thing about this album, Meet Glen Campbell is that he is singing well known songs by other artists.  Let me share the tracks on the album:

Sing (Travis)

Walls (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers)

Angel Dream (Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers)

Times Like These (Foo Fighters)

These Days (Jackson Browne)

Sadly Beautiful (The Replacements)

All I Want Is You (U2)

Jesus (Velvet Underground)

Good Riddance (Green Day)

Grow Old With Me (John Lennon)

This album quickly became one of my favorites, for many reasons…. the smooth voice, the gorgeous music, and the unique twist on the amazing original songs.

Enjoy!

Here is the Music Player. You need to installl flash player to show this cool thing!

Grow Old With Me

Grow old along with me
The best is yet to be
When our time has come
We will be as one
God bless our love
God bless our love

Grow old go on with me
Two branches are one tree
Face the setting sun
When the day is done
God bless our love
God bless our love

Spending our lives together
Man and the wife together
World without hurt
World without hate

Grow old along with me
Whatever fate decrees
We’ll see it thru
For our love is true
God bless our love
God bless our love

Hey Sheri! I was surprised when I saw Glen Campbell. I remember him from being a kid because my dad kind of looked like a cross between him and Mickey Dolenz. I’ll check this out. :)

    Ahhhhh…I miss KLOS. :(

    Have a wonderful day!

PS What did you think about Matthew Perryman Jones?
