jillian

She’s narrowed the field to three men, all very different from one another.  I’m starting to question and wonder if my original favorite, Ed, is still the one that I’m hoping for Jillian.  I’m wondering what film is on the editting room floor because there are holes in this story and things I’m not exactly getting!

Her first date was with Kiptyn.  First off,  Alicia left me a comment last week about Kiptyn’s bald spot on the back of his head.  Now, all I can do is focus on it…. ALICIA!  As I try to focus on his face (Oh No!  3 big forehead wrinkles… I wonder if Alicia will mention that!), I watch as they get together for a day on a ropes course.  As they enjoy the challenges, laugh and kiss, Jillian expresses her fears about the challenges in the course to Kiptyn.  He’s there for her and really encourages her not to be afraid, especially on the “Leap of Faith Challenge.”

It seems that their afternoon picnic and romantic dinner just brings them glass after glass of chilled white wine.  Man!!! It makes me want to rush out and get a chilled bottle pronto!  I’d like a hot guy to make out and drink chilled white wine with!  So, after Jillian grills Kiptyn about exposing his flaws, he admits that his biggest flaw in relationships with women is that he tends to put one foot in and one foot out.  Well, that would make me run for the hills (or, another glass of chilled white wine).  They end up deciding to take advantage of the overnight date card…. and, I yawn through the remainder of their date.

Kiptyn... the sure winner... but, I want Ed!
Kiptyn… He cannot walk a tightrope, but he can take a leap of faith.  I wonder if he knows Alicia???

Next is her date with Reid.  When he meets her on a field in the middle of who-knows-where, he tells her that all he wants to do is makeout with her all day.  Despite his wish, they end up going for a helicopter ride over Maui.  On this ride, Reid shares that the feeling of flying over Maui with Jillian is ”like Heaven” which is a good thing because the helicopter pilot announces that he’s the only ordained minister/helicopter pilot on Maui and that he marries people in the helicopter.  She teases Reid about it, but of course they don’t take him up on the offer to marry them.

After escaping the near marriage, they land in Hana.  If you’ve never been to Maui, let me tell you that the Road to Hana and Hana, itself, are GORGEOUS!  ‘Dem are some lucky dogs!  They have a picnic (more white wine… aaahhh!) and she tries to get Reid to open up and share his feelings.  However, he is struggling with it.  I’m sure the cameras don’t help!  Reid did share with her that he’s feeling rushed.  Duh!  You’re asking him if he’s prepared to propose and this is like your 3rd or 4th “alone” date!  He also admitted to her that he’s indecisive… another obvious fact about him that would be a major warning sign for me.

Reid, The Realtor Who Bores Me To Tears
Reid wonders… Do all helicopters come with ordained ministers ready to marry you?  If so, that’s my LAST helicopter adventure!

The final date was with Ed and they head out on a catamaran.  From the moment that they see each other again, they are all over each other.  It seems like they are always touching.  He admits to her that he’s been thinking about her every day since they last saw one another.  They do a little swimming and Jillian gushes about how she loves being in the water with Ed so that she can wrap her legs around him and kiss him constantly.  You know, they do have this thing with kissing in the water… remember the pool after the zip-lining off the hotel and the making out in the fountain in Spain?

Later on, Ed admits that his family calls him Richie.  She admits to the viewers that she does not want to be away from him for “more than a second.”  He makes it totally clear how badly he wants to be with her.  But, it’s more than words with him.  He’s so serious that he’s flown his parents to Maui to meet her since she missed the hometown date opportunity.  She appears to be utterly emotionally-moved and can’t wait to meet the parents.  Later that day, they go and meet the folks.  She seems very relaxed in her conversation with the both of them.  Ed’s Dad gets all teary eyed in talking with Jillian.  It’s getting serious in Ed-Land.

Later, they head down the beach and I can’t stop staring at Ed’s short-short green shorts with white trim.  I mean, he’s got great long legs… but those shorts?  Oh, Ed… what were you thinking?  Despite the 1970′s shorts, she’s got it bad for Sexy Ed.  They don’t have the romantic dinner because they were busy with the parents, so Ed comes straight to the fantasy suite.  When he comes to the door, all I can think about is his bad hairdo.  Green shorts and now this?  Drippy bangs and all, he confesses to Jillian that he’s falling in love with her and has never felt this way before.

He carries her to the bed.  She heads into the bathroom to change.  Out she comes in a white jersey shirt thing that’s practically see-through and low cut.  He’s gone into practical cardiac shock.  He admits on air that “this chick is smokin’ hot.. why does she like me?”  See?  He’s a total computer nerdy, old fashioned kind of guy.  Down to earth.  Not used to this.  He’s in shock, alright.  So, what does she do to poor ailing Ed?  She whips out the massage oil.  It’s at this point that I thought the cameras would leave so they could be alone.  BUT THEY DON”T!  Her undies are showing, her boob practically falls out, and the cameras are filming her rubbing oil on his chest.  What?  Get the F#%! out!  Leave them alone!  As racy of a gal as I am.. it was too much for me.  It was just too intimate to be filmed.  It made me uncomfortable.  Speaking of uncomfortable… I forgot to mention that the cameras made it appear that Jillian and Reid got butt-ass naked before getting into the bathtub.  I didn’t see those bikini top strings… she could have been wearing a strapless top, but it would have been nice to have seen straps so that I didn’t feel like I was watching naked people in the bathtub.

Back to Ed and Jillian… the cameras FINALLY leave.  Unfortunately, they don’t get their groove on.  What’s implied is that Ed can’t perform or that there is no physical chemistry between them.  Jillian starts freaking out about it.  Now here is where I feel like I need to defend Ed a bit.  First off… the cameras.  They were just all in their face all night.  Second, if you’ve spent an entire day in the sun and drinking glass after glass of chilled white wine… you’ve gone through the emotional exercise of introducing your girl to the parents… and, you’ve been put into the ABC-massage-oil-porno… it’s all a bit daunting and most likely not easy to just let loose and jump into sex.  Plus, he does admit that he has fears of getting even closer to her and Jillian dumping him for another man.

I don’t think Jillian handled the “no-sex” thing very well.  And, this is why I’m bummed.  The entire date, the two couldn’t keep your hands off each other and were CONSTANTLY touching.  But, now she’s worried that there’s no chemistry?  I don’t know.  That just seems off.  You can usually tell in a kiss (and, they’ve had like A THOUSAND).  Hopefully, she doesn’t blow it.  This guy has really put his career on the line, humbled himself for another chance, drug his parents to Maui for a 2-hour meeting in front of cameras and donned horrible shorts for you.  Actions speak louder than words, Jill-Jill.

Oh, Ed! Ed... Ed... Ed... You're Back! Leave Jillian and marry me!
Ed… Viagra?!?

Time to hand out roses and we watch as Jillian and Chris Harrison discuss her feelings for all three men.  I’m actually thinking that she’s going to choose Kiptyn and Reid.  I hoped she would pick Reid and Ed.  The three men leave her video messages.  Kiptyn’s was okay.  He tells her that he’s ready to take it to the next level.  I’m still bored.  Reid’s message is filled with emotion  and looks adorable.  He even shares her love name for him “Honey Bear” on the tape.  (This brings about scenes from The Bold & The Beautiful’s Donna and Eric… I just can’t get into that love name because of those two).  Back to the tapes.  She next watches Ed’s.  First he tells her that she can be “completely inappropriate at times,” but then admits that he loves her and wants to propose to her.  She looks completely blown away, but not in a good way.

She walks out to the rose ceremony and tells all three guys, ”I’m falling in love with all of you.”   Reid does not look happy to hear this, Kiptyn looks confused and Ed looks sad.  Why would any woman confess that to three guys?  Slow move, X*LAX!  She then asks to talk to Ed, privately.  She brings up the sex thing again and Ed seems to reassure her that it was just a day of way too much pressure.    Would she just let that go?   As they walk back to the ceremony walking hand-in-hand (the intermingling finger way, not the regular way) Reid and Kiptyn don’t seem to react well watching her with another guy, hand-in-hand like that.  She starts with the roses.

First one goes to… Kiptyn.  WHAT?  BOOOOOOOOO.

The second one goes to… Ed.  GOODIE.

She takes Reid over to the bench that she just had the conversation with Ed on.  They both look very sad.  Jillian’s crying and Reid looks so bummed.  They just sit there with their foreheads pressed against one another like two penguins in love.  This totally sucks!  Reid admits that it was his fault because he wouldn’t express his feelings and she needed to understand where he was at with her.

Reid’s limo interview was even more sad.  He admits that he screwed up.  I wanted him to stop the limo, get out, run back to her and go tell her how he felt.  But… no….

Ed comes over to comfort her.  He thanks her for choosing him and then walks her back to Kiptyn and the scene of the rose crime.

So… next week is the “Men Tell All” episode (Great!  I need more Wes like I need a hole in my head!) and the week after that we see who she picks.  With Reid out of the running, I’m just not as excited as I was before tonight’s episode.  I do wonder, however, if she’ll get to have nookie with Ed and if it’s red hot.

Just as I’m watching the credits and out-takes, there is a clip about Ed’s shorts.  He calls them his “green makini.”  Oh-Lord-Have-Mercy… Ed!  NO Makinis, Ed!  But, I do like the way you make fun of your own self!

  • Yay! I’m so glad you noticed the bald spot – it is quite bizarre. And I did also notice the wrinkles – but you know, it’s okay because he has a “nine pack”.

Okay – we have to discuss Ed’s rose ceremony outfit. What in the world was that?! Was he going sailing after the rose ceremony. Also, I don’t fully understand their fantasy date. He was on his stomach and Jillian was on his back – what were they trying to do?! Or was he asleep….I’m so confused! And, I totally saw a nip slip when she put on her fancy little outfit.

And I am fully on Team Reid, so of course he got sent home. I may have cried a little when they were touching foreheads – so sad. REID!!!! Also, when they were all naked in the tub (I saw no straps either) it reminded me of Monica and Chandler in that one episode of Friends.

Apparently Reid isn’t at the Men Tell All :( What if I never see him again – it would be awful!

    • Alicia,
Now, how do people know that Reid isn’t at Men Tell All? You must tell me!!!
I saw on the internet the rumors that Kiptyn is the next Bachelor… but, I doubt that.
You’re right about Ed’s funky outfit. I thought to myself… what the hell is he wearing?!? But, I forgot to mention it in the post.
      Yeah, I saw nip, too!
I also wondered what the hell they were doing when she was on his back…. maybe giving him a massage? Either way… cameras get out of there!
      BTW: Ed works at Microsoft.

  • I can’t believe that I forgot to mention Ed’s shorts – thankfully they showed that clip at the end that explained the green shorts! I would have preferred to see that before the rest of the date because the whole time I was watching, I was like – “what does Jillian think of those shorts? How is she not laughing at them? Is he freaking serious right now?!” But yeah – funny after it was explained! Then he wore them when they met his parents haha!!!!

  • Uggggggggggggh, I can’t believe she sent Reid home but you know what I think he’s coming back. They showed someone in the preview talking to Jillian and it looked suspiciously like Reid. Jillian was upset again and not knowing what to do. I sure hope he comes back. I agree – too much pressure on Reid to tell her he’ll ask her to marry him and the whole nine yards. What’s wrong with I really care about you and see a future here.

I’m not a Kiptyn fan. Yes he’s good looking enough but I think he’s scared of committing himself to anything and well I don’t know, he just doesn’t do it for me.

Ed -poor Ed. I was really disappointed in Jillian for putting so much weight on Ed’s performance. Come on, long day and CAMERAS. Uh yeh, somehow Ed doesn’t seem the type of guy to want his private moments aired on national tv and now the whole world knows. I don’t know, just don’t like how that was done at all. I’m glad she picked him but like you said actions speak louder than words and Ed is such a sweetie. I noticed the shorts but didn’t pay a lot of attention, I’m always lost in Ed’s eyes. lol.

So, the guys tell all isn’t my favorite thing to watch but I will. I didn’t notice that Reid was missing from it—-hmmmmmm, interesting. Could that mean I’m right and he’ll show up at the final show. I hope so!

    • Dar…. yeah, it’s obvious that Reid is coming back…everybody thinks so. But, I don’t want a season of two people coming back. It’s too much drama. I don’t know. It was enough with Wes and Ed… I’m not sure that I can take more drama. But, you’re probably right.

  • Wow, this one was all over the map. I am a bit of a Kiptyn fan, but I just don’t know if he is ready for a committed relationship. I was TOTALLY bummed that Reid went home. I think, actually, they had the best relationship – friendship, humor and obvious chemistry. I have no idea what she is thinking. This may be unpopular, but I really don’t see her with Ed. He is such a dork…and I don’t believe he can put his career second to anything. Okay, he did it for this brief period of time, but what happens in 6 months? I am totally with you on the cameras staying so long with her and Ed…it was way too uncomfortable for me…no wonder the poor guy couldn’t “perform.” geez….

I think Reid is coming back…just my intuition. And there is some twist where someone says something that puts him out of the running (previews showed her in quite an emotional state)…so what is that?!? I hate the men tell all segment falling in between this week’s show and the final show…I don’t want to wait two weeks, and like you I can do without Wes the scumbag…do we really need to give him MORE airtime for cripe’s sake?!?!??!

    • Wendy…
On Wes…. EXACTLY! I don’t want to waste another minute of my time watching this dude. However, I can’t fast forward through it, either, because I have to know the scoop for the posts. But, I’ll have a bowl o’ popcorn ready so that I have something to throw at the television!

      Sher

  • Sheri,

I have a minor obsession with reading message boards and Reality Steve – I’ve had this obsession for years now and it’s pretty sad!

So what I know so far is that Reid and Wes are not at the MTA – so I am hopeful for my Reid (I’ve jumped ship on Ed)!!!

I wish we could skip the MTA and have the finale already!!! geez
