I invite everybody to participate in the weekly MEME and write about any movies, television or big screen, that you’ve seen over the past week and write about it.  Please feel free to use the above logo photo in your post and/or link back to the site.  I will post every Sunday Night or Monday Morning on the movie I’ve seen from the past week.  I’m hoping that there are other movie buffs out there who will enjoy the MEME as much as I’m hoping to!  The only small request that I have is that you rate the movie out of 5 bags of popcorn (so, 1 bag out of 5, 2 bags out of 5, and so on).

def-may-jpgMovie:  definitely, maybe

Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Isla Fisher, Derek Luke, Abigail Breslin, Elizabeth Banks, and Rachel Weisz

Genre:  Romantic Comedy

Runtime: 112 Minutes

MPAA Rating:  PG-13

Directed By: Adam Brooks

definitely-maybeThe film came from the makers of Notting Hill, Bridget Jones, About A Boy and Love Actually, movies that I LOVE LOVE LOVE!  I was looking forward to this movie, but didn’t catch it in the theatres.  So, I picked up the DVD at Walmart over the weekend.  I consider this the “you’ve made it through 12 years of the twins and are still alive” birthday gift to me!

First off, a bit of star trivia.  Ryan Reynolds is definitely HOT!  He’s married to Scarlett Johannsen, also super hot.  They are both Scorpios… intense relationship!  Ryan Reynolds is definitely kissable in this flick!

The movie suggests that “it’s definitely not too late to look back and maybe find a happy ending.”  After experiencing a sex-ed class at school that day, a curious daughter wants to understand how her father and mother connected and decided to have her.  She prods and prods her dad about their romance until such time that he explains to her that it is a long story.  She, of course, is dying to hear it.  Her parents are in the midst of a divorce and she is questioning a lot about their love.  As the dad, Will, tells his daughter this story, the viewers see that there are three women that he met and were connected to during the same time.  Will’s daughter convinces him to tell her the story and switch the names of the women so that the story becomes a “romantic mystery.”  She wants to guess which one is her mother.

girls-of-movieSo, the movie is his story of the three most important romantic interests in his life, going back to 1992 when he worked for the democratic party in support of Clinton’s election.  Which one of the three beautiful women is the mom of this curious girl?  I picked my favorite… Isla Fisher.  Her character, April, was BY FAR the one that I wanted him to pick!  She’s such a gorgeous gal with such a classic American beauty about her.  I really liked her in the movie.  But, I won’t give away who Will picks to marry nor how the movie ends, just in case you haven’t seen it!

Like my love for ChickLit books, I am a die hard Romantic Comedy lover.  I’ve seen nearly all of them out there and will never tire of the genre!   This movie was a “classic” romantic comedy and I thoroughly enjoyed it.  The cast was terrific and I got just enough romance for me to believe that one day it could just happen to me!  (… well, it probably won’t but ONE can only hope!)

Out of 5 bags of popcorn, genre romantic comedy… I give this:

I like the sound of this movie, will have to try it. Isla Fisher is great, I have been a fan of hers since she was in the Aussie Soap Home & Away many many moons ago…..well it seems like it now :) I thought she was the only saving grace to Shopoholic. Gotta support the aussie actors too!

I really liked this one, too- and I agree, Ryan Reynolds is gorgeous. :) He’s totally buff in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, too!
