Reading Challenges

On J. Kaye’s 100+ Reading Challenge…  I’m at 61 books done.  Therefore, my statistical update for this challenge is that I’m 61% completed with 35.75% of the year completed.  This puts me ahead of schedule by 25.24%.  I’m still solidly progressing.

I really am going to join in on the Classics Challenge and I need to get my post up.

Lainey Grace Update

Lainey Grace is back in the hospital for another round of chemotherapy.  Lori writes in her Caring Bridge Journal daily updates on how things are going during the hospital visit.  Lainey has lost her hair due to the chemotherapy and is starting to wear nice hats.  Lori is attempting to crochet a hat for Lainey, but she writes that she’s gotten frustrated and has ripped it out several times.  Don’t give up, Lori!  Today I’d like to ask that your prayers for Lainey include a call for God to continue to bless her presence with an army of angels who make her feel safe.  All of this medicine and treatment is scary for Lainey, so I’d like her to feel more surrounded by God’s infinite safety.  Lori is reading more and more to Lainey and that’s always a wonderful escape.  Lori celebrated her 40th Birthday on Monday.  Her husband ordered an in-home massage for Lori plus provided her an escape for  a pedicure.  GOOD HUBBY!

At Home & On TV

Such as shocker with Lil’ Kim and Derek being voted off.  In addition, another huge shocker for me in Alison being voted off American Idol.  Here is my post about this vote-offs.   If you’re into it, you can catch up on my goofy gossip on the Dancing With the Stars Post-Show Wrap Up (HERE).

I hosted my BUNKO group on Friday Night.  In celebration of Cinco De Mayo, we had tacos, beans, rice, guacamole and margaritas.  I even tried a new recipe for Pomegranate Margaritas which went over well.  I think that the ladies had a nice time and my friend Michelle was such a help with the cooking and serving!  Thanks, Michelle.  I invited two of my book club friends over for BUNKO and they met some of my fun-loving friends.  I didn’t win… but, it was nice to see everybody since we haven’t been together since March.

I ruined my left ankle during my walk on Monday night.  I’ve been instructed to stay off of it and I’ve done a pretty good job of doing so.  The twins have been active in soccer tryouts and games.  DeeDee had an amazing game today.  She was so aggressive and such a force to be reckoned with on the field today.

I’ve updated my resume with help of another book club new friend… (THANK YOU!).  I’m sending it out left and right.  JOB JOB JOB!

I’m going to take a bit of a reading break this week and only review 1 or 2 books this week.  I’ll be reviewing April & Oliver, most definitely.  The other, I’m not so sure.  I need a bit of a reading break this week.

As always, my thanks to all of you for reading not only this post, but the others as well.   Your readership means the world to me!  AND, your comments are invaluable to me!
