Monday’s Movie: Beverly Hills Chihuahua
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
I invite everybody to participate in the weekly MEME and write about any movies, television or big screen, that you’ve seen over the past week and write about it. Please feel free to use the above logo photo in your post and/or link back to the site. I will post every Sunday Night or Monday Morning on the movie I’ve seen from the past week. I’m hoping that there are other movie buffs out there who will enjoy the MEME as much as I’m hoping to! The only small request that I have is that you rate the movie out of 5 bags of popcorn (so, 1 bag out of 5, 2 bags out of 5, and so on).
——————————————————————————————————————————————–
Movie: Beverly Hills Chihuahua
Starring: Drew Barrymore (voice), Piper Perabo, Andy Garcia (voice), George Lopez (voice), Cheech Marin (voice), Paul Rodriguez (voice), Placido Domingo (voice), Edward James Olmos (voice), Jamie Lee Curtis
Genre: Family/Adventure
Runtime: 91 Minutes
MPAA Rating: PG
Directed By: Roja Gosnell
Another Friday Night Rental from from cable, after all we’d made it through the week and all the homework and chores were done. The twins begged for this movie as I tried to sway them to The Secret Life of Bees. No such luck. But, as you may know, I’m a HUGE dog lover. Maybe it won’t be so bad after all.
Wrong.
Well, the twins completely disagree with me on this movie. They totally dug it and thought it was “super cool.”
Wrong, again.
If you look at the cast (above), you will be shocked to see the great names attached to this movie. And, I’m sure that it made a mint in the box office because of the family/kiddie draw. Usually I’m okay with the family/kiddie movie, but this one just bored me to tears. For example, this rat and iguana steal this dog’s Harry Winston collar/necklace (yeah, RIGHT!) and are cruising around town with it and nearly nobody notices it! Whatever.
Let’s see… what can I say nice about the movie? The dogs were well trained. The actors did great with their voice-overs. Andy Garcia is a babe! Uhh… uhh…. Nope. Nothing else.
(Now the twins are mad at me). “Mom! It was a good movie.“
Okay. So, I guess it’s all about perspective. This one just wasn’t for me.
Out of 5 bags of popcorn, genre drama… I give this:

Ouch I hate boring movies. I can tolerate bad movies because you end up having a good laugh but a boring movie is just bleah. I had one of those with Twilight and probably lots would disagree with me but it had me bored stupid.
Good review I had looked at this one but ummed and ahhhed about it. Glad I didnt pick it up(and lucky my babies are of the furry kind and dont care what movie I pick LOL).

I admit that this one doesn’t appeal to me at all–even with my love for dogs.

I’m so glad I didn’t watch this one. I thought about it because the kids really wanted to see it.

Sherri, with two males in the home, I am not likely to have to honor a request to see this film, and you have made me very happy to know that I will not be missing out.
It is nice that you watched it for the twins. You are a rock star mom.

OOOPS my apologies, Sheri. My finger slipped and I gave two r’s instead of one. Didn’t catch it until it was too late. Happy Monday!
