DWTS: Bruno’s The Inflatable Guy At the Car Lot

MARK’S KEEPIN’ IT “AGE APPROPRIATE…”

THE SAPP IS BACK

“WHAT WAS ON THE LABEL WASN’T WHAT WAS IN THE TIN!”

LACY IS RACY!

David Alan Grier is gone despite the better judges’ marks last week.   I’m excited to watch the dances this week and see if  Bruno is still a raving maniac!

Here’s my nagging  and praising for this week’s couples:

ty-murry-and-chelsie-hightower
Ty Murray and Chelsie Hightower

They were given The Jive to perform.  I think Chelsie really gave it her best training efforts as shown in the rehearsal video.  There’s nothing like a cowboy jumping on a trampoline and doing the hula-hoop!  But, the cleverly choreographed routine held some hiccups for Ty.  He missed a couple of steps and that’s all it took to steer him off in the wrong direction.  But, like Len said, he’s just such a gentleman and gives each dance his all.  I agree!  Better luck next week, Ty!  Please, make it to next week, Ty!  Scores: 6-6-6

Steve-O and Lacy Schwimmer
Steve-O and Lacy Schwimmer

Dee Dee says, “They’re just not the right couple.  He’s stiff and she’s graceful.”  Duh!  I get so pissed off at Steve for not trying harder because I just LOVE Lacy.  I totally dug their costumes this week.  Lacy looked AMAZING!  If you didn’t see the show, imagine a pale mint green & ivory bedroom ensemble (bra, shorts, short robe & high heels).  I agree with Carrie Ann, even though the dance wasn’t perfect, it was mesmerizing.  The rehearsal video was hilarious with Steve-O scratching is butt, picking his nose, and farting up a storm. The farting reminded me of my brother!    Scores: 7-4-5.

Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas
Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas

Once again, America’s Sweetheart looked just darling.  Her eyeshadow was so pretty!  Mark gave her a “prom” in rehearsal as she may miss her prom due to DWTS if she continues on.  It was very sweet.  Keeping in mind that the Rumba is a very sensual dance, I think Mark did a good job of keeping the dance clean, yet allowing it to be romantic and a tad spicy.  They did a lovely job and I really like Shawn.  However… that Mark… I think he’s a bit of a naughty boy!  Thank God her parents are there!  Scores: 8-9-9.

Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovalani
Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovalani

This couple got the Rumba.  In their practice tape, we got to watch how hard they worked at preparing for this dance.  Tony made a comment about Melissa’s hand needing to be bent as if she were displaying a 10-carat ring.  She replies with a comment along the lines of  “… and, yet it is bare!”  They each got a giggle out of Tony’s bad analogy, as did I.  Samantha says that Tony is “such a big goof-ball,” but I think he’s adorable.  They did a great job on their dance and deserved a 10 in the midst of the 9′s.  Scores: 9-9-9.

lil-kim-and-derek-hough
Lil’ Kim and Derek Hough

Was it too appropriate that Lil’ Kim and Derek’s Jive was to Jailhouse Rock?  Uh, Yeah!   I know that I am the minority on this couple; I realize that.  But, the whole cop/inmate thing was just LAME!   She needed more material in her top to help with the overly bouncing boobies.  Her overly sexy theatrical “cuts” just bored me to tears.  So, after I was done gagging myself with a spoon, I got to watch Bruno completely freak out over the dance and ask Lil’ Kim to arrest him for having “Love in the First Degree.”  I need a BARF bag.  And, I noticed SEVERAL mistakes in their footing in the routine that the judges said nothing about.  So, Carrie Ann can be snotty about Edyta’s lift, but can’t seem to mention the footwork mistakes?  What’s up with that?    Scores:  10-8-10 (Thanks, Len!)

Lawrence Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska
Lawrence Taylor and Edyta Sliwinska

The Jive was this week’s challenge for this couple.  Warren Sapp showed up to help Lawrence “loosen up” a bit.  It may have worked.  Their jive was good and they did show improvement from last week.  But, the entire dance was just BORING for me.  I really thought Ty & Chelsie’s was better.  Anyway, did anybody notice… was that Eric Dickerson in the audience?  Scores: 7-7-8.

Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke
Gilles Marini and Cheryl Burke

I am SO mad that they bring up Gilles’ minor mistake, but they don’t bring up anything to Lil’ Kim (can I stop calling her Lil’ and just call her Kim?).  Gilles is very happily married to a gorgeous French woman who he kissed at the end of his routine.  Sorry, Cheryl… no hope for you whatsoever!  No hope for any of us!  Bummer.  The dance was good, but it didn’t thrill me.  However, in my never-to-be-humble opinion, it was far better than any of the other jives of the night.    Scores: 9-8-9.

Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough
Chuck Wicks and Julianne Hough

With the same overall scores as last week, I don’t understand the judges scores this week as this Rumba was remarkedly improved from last week.  I liked their romantic rehearsal video – well, at least the part at the beach.  But, Julianne has to really drive home to Chuck that in practice, she can’t be his girl… she’s his teacher.  If she can’t do that, they are doomed to be voted off sooner rather than later.  He sounded like such a puss in rehearsal telling her, “you’re being MEAN!”  Grow up, Chuck!   Scores: 8-7-8

Yes Chuck definitely needs to grow up…there’s something about him that I just really don’t like…he reminds me of a frat rat and he just doesn’t seem to take dancing serious…so while I would hate to she Julianne leave I can’t wait for him to leave…lol…and Steve-O hmmm I like him but it’s time for him to go home also…and what did they have on…I didn’t care for their outfits at all…they should have done the jive because Steve is so not sexy…he should have danced with his pet…whom he really seemed to love…lol.

Loved your recap. Same time next week.

Sheri, Love your recaps!!! I’m with you about Lil’ Kim–I can’t understand why everyone else loves her! She, Chuck and Steve-O drive me batty and they need to go!

Steve-O was painful to watch. How can he not feel romantically towards Lacy. The guy’s got a major problem and he needs to go.

I am just as pissed as you are Sheri about Lil Kim. That dance may have been fun to watch and to perform but it was far from perfect and certainly didn’t deserve two 10s.

I like Chuck. Julianne was being mean. She told him to be a man. That is a harsh way to say “stop slouching.” His dancing was better than Lil Kim’s.

Lawrence was ripped off. His scores were way too low. He did a really good job. I don’t understand why the judges don’t like him and why they are so in love with Lil Kim. (In case it isn’t clear, I absolutely hate Lil Kim. She’s just so nasty.)

Gilles and Melissa did awesome but my favorite for the night was Shawn. She was stunning. She’s slowly finding her personality. Yay.

Thank you Sheri for your great recap and commentary. Your views are usually spot on and very entertaining. I love that I have a place I can come to to express my thoughts about DWTS.
