At Home & On TV

David Allen Grier didn’t survive this week on Dancing With the Stars.  You can catch up on my goofy gossip (HERE).

I have a lot of my mind and in my prayers this week.  As stated in my post dated Friday, I’m calling on all Moms and Prayer Warriors out there to read my post and include Lainey Grace in your prayers.

I will post a winner for The Keeper of Light and Dust book giveaway shortly.

We did make it to Chinatown this week.  The kids were really annoyed that I wanted to take their pictures.  But, I did and here are a couple…

  • Thank you so much, Sheri! I agree that commenters bring so much joy to blogging, and you bring so much joy to blogging, too!

By the way, where is Shana???

  • Yes, it’s the comments that remind me that I’m not standing here alone, thinking aloud to myself.

  • What a nice surprise on a holiday Sunday. Thank you! What happened to Shana? Is she okay?

  • Happy Easter! Congratulations on your award and thanks so much for passing it on to me – it really means a lot. I’ve been worried about Shana too, so I emailed her and she said she’s good and “Just taking time to work on my self-hosted site and a little break from actively blogging.” Please keep us posted on Lainey’s progress.

  • Thank you so much for this great award (and I LOVE the panda!!) — but I gotta tell ya, I learned from the best. You have modeled such great blogging etiquette for me and I am very thankful for your friendship.

May you have a very blessed Easter with the girls — and please know that we are still praying for Lainey and her family.

  • Happy Easter! I’m so impressed at how many books you can read in a week. I love your blog award button, and congrats to all of the recipients you recognized. I can’t wait to read Shanghai Girls and Follow Me. I wish that I was a speed reader!! I emailed Shana recently to see if she was okay…glad to hear that Kathy heard from her and she is okay.

    Love those pics of Chinatown!

Prayers for Lainey and her family!

  • Happy Easter. Thank you for much for the award. A sweet surprise to wake up to this morning. Have a wonderful day.

  • Thanks for the award Sheri! I wish I knew the numbers for comments on my site. As far as I know blogger doesn’t keep those kind of stats. Did you have to count them by hand? If so, then you deserve some kind of award for all of that work! :)

I have been worried about Shana too, and am glad to see in Kathy’s comment that Shana is doing well.

    Loved your pictures!

  • Lisa:

I can feel the love from here!! You do have an amazing blog and are such an inspiration to those of us who are fairly new to blogging! Thank you for that inspiration! Happy Easter to you and your family!

  • Happy Easter, Sheri! You have been having some great weeks for reading :) I’ve given you an award on my blog!

  • Me again. Would you please share what you used for comment counter? :) thank you.

  • What an awesome award! Thank you so much! It’s such a great Easter present!

    Happy Easter!

  • Happy Easter to you and your girls Sheri. They sure are beautiful girls.

Thanks so much for the award. It means so much to me coming from you. You are a inspiration to me daily in your posts my friend.

Shana is doing well. We’ve emailed a few times and she’s busy with some other stuff in life.

Many prayers going out for Lainey and her family.

  • Commentors are wonderful, aren’t they? I know I always get a little shiver and a big smile when I see that someone has commented on one of my posts.

The Just For the Love of It Challenge is almost over? Ack! I’m not even sure I signed up officially and I am pretty certain that even if I did, I haven’t posted any reviews anywhere but on my own blog. Must check all of this out and rectify any whoopses!

  • Happy Easter! I really want to read Shanghi Girls. Thanks for all of your reccomendations.

  • Wow…I’m ecstatic…THANKS SO MUCH! Happy Easter and note that although I don’t always comment…I’m always reading!

  • That is a really great award someone thought up! I have to say that some of your biggest commenters are also some of mine! Bermudaonion comments on almost all of my posts and regularly stays in my top 6, as does Serena from Savvy Verse & Wit. Congrats to you and all of your commenters! Oh, and I can’t wait to discover what you thought of Shanghai Girls and Fire Me.

  • Never too old for the Easter Bunny!

The Tink? Lol. I adore the award!!! Hope you had a great day :)

  • Thanks for the award! I agree – I love getting comments. I also love commenting on blogs who encourage conversation and connection – like yours. :)

  • Thank you so much for your kind award. I like to comment here because you make it such a fun place to visit. You were also one of the first people to reach out to me when I started blogging. I hope you had a wonderful Easter. The girls are gorgeous, and of course I’m saying extra prayers for Lainey. Thanks for having such a great blog!

(I hope to win Girls In Trucks too!)

  • Thanks so much, Sheri, for the beautiful award. I love the look of it as well as the sentiment behind it. Glad to read in the comments here that Shana is alive and well.. I have been wondering about her.

It was such a great surprise to see you and the girls this morning at church! Happy Easter! Hope you had a great rest-of-the-day.

    xoxo

  • Nely:

Thanks for the award Sheri! The pleasure is all mine… I love coming by here to read what you’ve been reading about and just see what’s going on around here. :D

  • Congrats on your award Sheri…and thanks so much for thinking of me! I just love your pics from Chinatown! What a fun day that must have been. I hope you had a most wonderful Easter!

  • Thanks so much for the award. I appreciate it. I had no idea that I was that much of a commenter. :) Pleasant surprise.

  • Dawn:

Happy Easter, Sher! And thanks for the award. I haven’t seen this one before, it’s adorable.

I love the list of new books for you. I so want to read the new Lisa See! My daughter has been reading and reviewing the Shelly Adina series for me.

  • On the comment counter, it is a WordPress.Org Plug-In for those who use WordPress on a self-hosted website (not WordPress.Com). It’s a statistical plug in that gives you general counts on posts and such.

  • Thank you so much!! I’ve given it back, because you’re one of my top commentors but you don’t need to repost =)

  • the panda is so cute! How lame am I commenting on the comment award post several days after the fact. Thank you! Do you have a list posted somewhere of what your real live book club is reading? My book club is picking our books at this weeks meeting and we’re supposed to bring suggestions and I’m so out of touch with what’s out there right now! Hope you had a great Easter! bye!

  • Thank you so much, Sheri, for the award! That is so sweet of you. :-)

I am really looking forward to reading Shanghai Girls. I hope you are enjoying your week.

  • Anna:

Thank you so much! You’re a gem! Hope you had a great Easter.
