It’s like somebody put weights on my brain and its speed slowed by 1,000! I only got TWO books read this week.
This Week’s Reads

I am currently reading This One is Mine by Maria Semple.

THURSDAY’S THOUGHTS
I have announced the winner of Thursday’s Thoughts HERE. The winner, Becky, has been shipped out a HARDBACK edition of Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein.
Now, for this week’s Question of the Week:
If you could study a subject that you’ve never had the opportunity to learn, what would you choose? This could be an academic class or the study of a specific skill or art. Tell us your passion about it!
OTHER CONTESTS
BookRoom Review’s Book Giveaway Carnival is ending today, March 8th. The Reader’s Delight Basket has been compiled and one lucky winner will grab it! It has 4 of my favorite books (all brand spankin’ new and just for you) plus some goodies.
READING CHALLENGES
For “Just For the Love Of It Reading Challenge” and “J. Kaye’s 100+ Book Challenge,” I’ve read 27 books so far year-to-date. WOW… that means that I’m 27% done with J. Kaye’s Challenge and we’re only 18.61% done with the year. I’m ahead by 8.9%. This tells me I’m still “on-track,” but I am used to reading 3-4 books per week. I suck.
For the participants of the Just For the Love of It Challenge, please remember to link your review posts for March HERE. Remember, you can always go to the sidebar and click on the month you need to enter your review under… it’ll shoot you straight over to the Mr. Linky post. Enter your review on Mr. Linky.
Around the Blogsphere
I was blessed with an award this week from Jo-Jo (Jo-Jo Loves to Read). First off… I LOVE HER BLOG! I’m a fairly new reader of hers, but I really dig not only the layout of her blog, but her terrific content, as well. She’s a very nice person and I’m looking forward to reviewing the same books as her in the next month or so!
So, she awarded me the Proximidade Award. Here’s the skinny on what that means:
“This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY-nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement! Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this clever-written text into the body of their award.”
I am more than flattered that she thought of me for this award. Eight writers that I feel are deserving of this award:
Dar at Peeking Between the Pages
Erika Lynn at Kiss My Book
Serena at Savvy Verse & Wit
Jennifer at The Literate Housewife Review
Debbie at Wrighty’s Reads
Jackie at Literary Escapism
Jessica at The BlueStocking Society
Kathy at BermudaOnion’s Weblog
At Home & On TV
By now, you have most likely read what I had to say about The Bachelor Season Finale.
I’m not a very happy camper about it. But, my readers had many good points to make about the finale and Jason’s choice. I think the comments are one of the best parts of the post, itself!
Starting tomorrow night is Dancing With The Stars. This is the time of the year that Yasmin and I are glued to the set on Monday Nights! If you’re on the East Coast, you’ll love Yasmin’s posts on Monday Nights. Her friends and herself are all on the blog commenting away about the outfits and the dancing. I can’t participate because it hasn’t aired yet in my time zone, but I can’t wait to read her post after the show is over. I am going to try to do my DWTS wrap-up posts every Tuesday until a winner is chosen. With Monday’s Movie, I’m not sure if I can manage. We’ll see! Speaking of Monday’s Movie, did y’all read my review of Nights in Rodanthe? And… where were you, this week, movie lovers? Nothing great grabbing your fancy!?!
American Idol was FANTASTIC this week! I didn’t call-in and vote once. However, suprisingly… each and every one of my favorite contestants made it to the TOP 1213! I must have the same taste as the rest of America. I was totally pee’d off when they brought back DRAMA QUEEN for another chance at it. Of course, like a dumb cluck… she sings the same song as the past week and acts like a complete moron. I’m glad she didn’t make it. Kudos to Paula for telling her that she WOULD become an actress someday..interesting this week.
The Office was not a re-run this week, but it just did NOTHING for me. Except, it was kinda groovy when Phyllis and Bob had a “nooner” in the uni-sex bathroom at the restaurant.
I haven’t watched this week’s episode of Hell’s Kitchen yet. And… I have to catch a Monday’s Movie this weekend!
Nothing new and interesting with me other than I got to spend time with Peggy, Christina AND Danielle this week. That was super! LOVE YA’ gals!
Thanks, all, for reading not only this post, but the others as well. Your readership means the world to me!

awww, thanks so much for the award. I can’t even talk about the bachelor! but did you see Melissa on Ellen this week? she showed a picture of her hunky new boyfriend and she had a great perspective on the whole thing
Congrats on the award and thanks for thinking of me. I’ve added you to the list in my previous post.
I cannot wait to read Natasha Mostert’s booK!
Congratulations on the award — and I love your new photo at the top of the page
I thought it was pretty funny when Paula made a comment about the fact that Tatiana had suddenly developed an accent …
Thank you so much for the award. It really means a lot to me!
Your blog looks great! Are you truly disappointed that you read ONLY two books? Your laggin’ week is my goal week!
Congrats on the award! Don’t worry about the reading funk, we all go through that. I’m sure you’ll bounce right back this week. Plus, you did get two books read, and that’s not too shabby!
Congratulations on the Proximidade Award. I’ll have to check out all the links. My TSS post is up here
Have a great day!
Dude! I know about the accent think with DRAMA queen! That was great!
Tori’s LA concerts always seem to rock! You are so lucky
I finally saw her play Sugar live at the Lawrence, KS show and I was soooooo deliriously happy.
Congrats on the award!! Yep, them reading funks are horrid. Sometimes I bust out an audiobook when I am in a funk, it helps.
Awwwww, thanks so much for the award Sheri. I totally think you are deserving of it-your blog is so fantastic. I am honored that you picked me for it.
Idol-Drama Queen. I think they did it for ratings. I can’t stand her. Other than that the people I had wanted to go through did also and I never voted. It’s always busy and plus I fall asleep. lol.
Can’t wait to read Natasha’s book!
Sheri, thank you so much for the award. It’s always nice to be well thought of by those you admire.
Thursday’s Thoughts – I think I would study graphology (handwriting analysis). I’ve always been fascinated by it. I also want to take a web design class. And a cooking class. Let’s face it; I’d re-enroll in school right now if I didn’t have to make money.
Thanks so much Sheri! I really appreciate it especially coming from you. Congrats to you for receiving it first. You are very deserving!
