Stop Being Selfish!

I’m “peev’d” about something.  Did anybody see the results show for American Idol on Wednesday Night?  Tatiana and Danny were in the last two remaining contestants to be announced as to their results.  Of course, Danny won (AS HE SHOULD HAVE BECAUSE HE WAS THE BEST OF THE NIGHT).  Tatiana, who has been on the strangest roller-coaster of emotion which is resulting in tons of media attention, completely lost it when she didn’t win. 

What I am beefin’ about?  First of all, who taught this girl manners?  Has she been raised as a spoiled brat?  She showed no grace in losing whatsoever.  Let’s delve deeper.  There were 16 (?? not sure… a lot) contestants and only 3 of them could go to the finals.  Do the math; unless you are the best, you are not going through to the Top 12!  Most of the contestants took their news with some level of dignity and grace.  When the top 3 were announced, one by one, the non-winning contestants cheered them on as they sang their songs.  They smiled and clapped for them; they hugged them.  You know, normal non-poor sport behavior. 

Circa Psycho-Chick… Ryan Seacrest asks her how she is feeling about hearing the answer about who will win. She rambles on about prayer and her hard work.  If you look close, Danny rolls his eyes almost silently saying “Shut-up!  Enough already!”  When Seacrest asks Danny the same question, he just answers, “I just want to know the decision.”  BRAVO.  Correct answer.  Not some self-serving dramalogue.  So, Danny wins and Tatiana skirks back to the non-winning contestants row.  This is when the cameramen are ridiculous.  The entire time, you can see Tatiana not knowing where to stand to hide from the cameras so that she can sob sob sob.  She walks behind the row, all the way to the end, and behind Stevie (the 16-YR OLD).  Tatiana then proceeds to have an emotional breakdown on stage causing interruption to Stevie, who just wants to watch and cheer on Danny, but obviously feels bad for the hysterical woman behind her tugging at her. 

What irks me?  The viewer can never really revel in Danny’s victory (and, oh such a sad story travels with this widower) and watch him sing.  Why?  Because 1/2 of the camera is focused on Tatiana’s tantrum! Tatiana… GROW THE “F” UP!  Suck it up.  Clap for your fellow contestant.  Listen to the song.  Hold it together for 3 minutes then you can run backstage and have your nervous breakdown.  Can you tell that this really annoyed me?  I’m glad she’s gone!

Oh… on one little outside topic… this kid (Brent Keith) reminds me of the character Josh Lewis on Guiding Light (who is a total babe).  He is like completely ADORABLE.  Oh, if I were 20 again and he were single… I’d travel the country to bag this babe!
