Current Headlines: Ann Curry’s Interview With Octuplet Mama
After reading the article on RadarOnline.Com and seeing the video interview with her mother, I just want to give Nadya a serious sit-down reality check. Is she living in a “make-believe” world, or what? I hope that her mother exhibits some tough love with her and enforces her request for Nayda to get accomodations for her 14 children and herself because it’s just plain wrong what Nayda’s done to her monther through this. Ugh.
From the RadarOnline.Com article:
” “How she’s going to cope, I don’t know.”Angela said that she and Nadya’s father, Ed, begged one doctor not to implant any more embryos in Nadya, who already had six children. But Nadya found another doctor to implant six embryos, and two split, resulting in eight more babies. That doctor’s decision to perform the in vitro has left the octuplets grandmother furious. “I’m really angry about that,” she told RadarOnline.com.
Angela also voiced her anger over Nadya’s claim she was raised in a dysfunctional family and was lonely as a child. “We raised her in a loving family and her father always spoiled her,” Angela said.
“The truth is that Nadya hasn’t worked since she started having her children,” Angela, charged, “while Ed and I battled to pay her bills.
“Nadya promised to help me with the bills, but she never has. I lost a house because of it and now I’m struggling to look after her six. We had to put in bunk beds, feed them in shifts and there’s children’s clothing piled all over the house.”
Angela told RadarOnline.com that she wasn’t at the octuplets’ birth because she was looking after the other six children. “But I saw the octuplets when they were two days old. They were so tiny and fragile, with bright purple skin, I was afraid to touch them but they’re all doing well.”

Can you imagine thinking that your child raising days were over? And then ‘boom’ you’re a grandma of 14 in less than 8 years. And you’re raising them all? I’m sure there is a reason they only had one, they didn’t want anymore!!!
My kids better know better than that!

This story is such a train wreck. The creepy way Nadya was channeling her inner Angelina Jolie just made me yearn for the days when we could commit those with serious mental illnesses for everyone’s good, or at least get her help and ensure her children were raised in a stable home. We’re so used to watching disasters in the media, but not with days old babies as the biggest victims.

This is truly a sad state of affairs. Shouldn’t there by some kind of law against providing these types of services to a woman/couple who isn’t/aren’t raising the children they’ve already had? I wonder how this woman could have afforded this in the first place if she can’t help out with the bills?
BTW, I tagged you for a fun little meme. I hope you don’t mind.

My thinking is “why”. Why is the mother supporting her daughter. Make her support herself and all the children she chose to have. As long as the parents keep providing economic patient outcare, she will continue doing what she is doing. Maybe she’d think twice if she had to be the sole support and caregiver for all her kids. Harsh I know, but my 2 cents.

I am having such a hard time watching this woman pretend that this is a normal situation! Just the way she kept stroking those tiny little infants heads as if they were kittens. And her acryilic nails – egad. She is really not playing with a full deck – not at all. Those children (all 14) should be taken from her and placed with people who will provide decent lives for them. The future is bleak with her as their mother.
