I have this book on my TBR pile right now. It sounds like I really need to get to it. I haven't seen the movie, but my husband said Kate Winslet did a really good job. As for the Best Supporting Actress thing, I think the studios made a decision to campaign for Kate as supporting actress in The Reader and actress in Revolutionary Road. This was a good movie, I agree. It has been years since I read the book and so I couldn't make a proper comparison after seeing the movie myself.
