I’m proud to present my second Weekly Geeks Post of 2009. This week’s topics:

For those who have been with the group, either from the start or joined within recent months, what does being a member mean to you? What do you enjoy about the group? What are some of your more memorable Weekly Geeks that we might could do again? What could be improved as we continue the legacy that Dewey gave us?

For those just joining us, why did you sign up for Weekly Geeks? What would you like to see here?

For the first topic… I have been a “Weekly Geek” since Fall of 2008, so I’m not really a long-timer.  I got into it because the writing topics interested me and I could definitely relate to being a “blogging, writing, geek.”  Although, that’s never what it was proposed to me as being, I just affiliated with this MEME by viewing it that way.  What I enjoyed about the group was Dewey and we are all still adjusting to the shock of her passing.  But, what is encouraging is that many bloggers have stepped up to the plate and continued the traditions that meant so much to her… this being one of them.  As far as what can be improved, I think you already have.  I love the new tree badge/logo and the fresh start in 2009.  I may recommend that we keep the writing topics interesting and fresh to keep us all motivated to share our writing, being the geeks that we are!

For the second topic… I enjoy the fact that this is a Saturday MEME.  The week is pretty much filled up with other MEMEs and posts on my site.  On Monday’s, I give a movie review.  Tuesdays bring us a personal post.  Wednesday is a book review and Thursday is my TV week-in-review and Thursday’s Thoughts.  My Friday is complete with Friday Fill-In’s.  Saturdays are reserved for my Weekly Geek post and Sundays are The Sunday Salon articles.  Sometimes, during the week, I will post a second book review or challenge updates, as well.  I also provide a sprinkling of news here and there.  In sum, I would like to see Weekly Geeks remain a Saturday staple in my writing and a way to continue to learn about other bloggers and what’s new with them and their blog.
